Common challenges for wheelchair users

16.jpg

Muscle & joint stiffness

Prolonged inactivity of the lower limbs can lead to muscle loss and reduced joint mobility.

19.jpg

Reduced heart-lung function

Low activity levels reduce cardiovascular endurance, slow circulation, and increase the risk of heart disease.

20.jpg

Osteoporosis

Lack of weight-bearing activity causes gradual calcium loss in bones, raising the risk of fractures.

21.jpg

Digestive and bowel difficulties

Prolonged sitting slows intestinal movement, often leading to constipation and indigestion.

22.jpg

Poor posture

Improper sitting positions can cause hunchback, pelvic tilt, or scoliosis.

23.jpg

Mental health impact

Long-term wheelchair dependence and limited mobility may lead to feelings of isolation, depression, loss of confidence, and reduced social motivation.

The restricted life and the dilemma of being unable to exercise

For wheelchair users, exercise has never been something to take for granted. Beyond physical limitations, they also face a lack of accessible facilities and limited choices of suitable exercise equipment—many of which are unfriendly to use. Examples include: wheelchairs being unable to freely enter or exit, machines with unadjustable heights, or lacking safety support features. These invisible barriers discourage many wheelchair users from maintaining the habit of exercise.

Vertical vibration and rope skipping

The whole body vertical vibration is similar to rope skipping. Studies have confirmed that rope skipping is a simple but high-intensity whole body exercise. Its exercise method is vertical jumping up and down, driving the whole body up and down movement. When skipping rope, all tissues of the human body are exercised and developed at the same time, and more exercise benefits can be obtained from this exercise. Rope skipping is often used as one of the methods of high-efficiency muscle training. Not only can exercise lower body muscles, but also train the arms, shoulders, and core muscle strength. Enhance the body’s endurance, stamina, and coordination ability. And make the body healthier and stronger.
